The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Emerson Jorge and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Payan rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Silva moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Silva cracks Payan with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Silva has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Payan to stand back up!
It looks like Manuel Estevan Payan has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Payan misses with a wild combination.
Payan throws a right and a left that Silva avoids nicely.
Silva lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Payan up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Silva from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Payan's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Rafael Silva!
