Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Matsumae Sukeyuki !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Yardigalovich Vasililiev!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sukeyuki uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Vasililiev has time to react.

Vasililiev tries to bum rush Sukeyuki with a series of wild strikes but Sukeyuki uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

and Sukeyuki counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Vasililiev avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Vasililiev takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Sukeyuki is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

It looks like Sukeyuki has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Sukeyuki shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Vasililiev napping and manages to drive through into side control!

We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Vasililiev in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.

Vasililiev's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Sukeyuki connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Vasililiev scrambles back to his feet.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Yardigalovich Vasililiev comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Sukeyuki has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
