Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bunny Anstey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rich Willans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anstey comes into the arena with Friends in lower places blaring out of the sound system. Rich Willans has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Bunny Anstey!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rich Willans!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Alec Ball and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Willans wants to clinch
and Anstey counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Willans has Anstey up against the cage in a clinch.
Willans misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Anstey.
Willans tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Anstey is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Willans is defending well.
Anstey drops down looking for an ankle pick but Willans pulls his leg out and moves away.
Willans closes the distance but Anstey moves to the side
and Anstey counters with a low kick, right behind Willans 's knee.
Anstey shoots in but Willans avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bunny Anstey. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Willans gets caught napping as Anstey dives in and scores a takedown. Willans manages to retain guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Willans wants to stand up but Anstey is controlling him.

Anstey slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Willans wants to get back to his feet but Anstey is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Willans really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Anstey. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Anstey content to stall in guard here.

We're going to have a standup here because Bunny Anstey wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Willans wants to clinch but Anstey slips to the side

and Anstey counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Willans!
Anstey connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Willans some visible discomfort.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The strikes coming from Anstey are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Anstey has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Anstey in side control lands a decent elbow.
Anstey remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Anstey is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Willans has escaped the position, nice work there.

Willans takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Willans is trying to buck Anstey off.
Anstey takes a little break here. Willans wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Anstey grinds an elbow into Willans's temple.
Willans trying to remain calm as Anstey controls from the top position.
Anstey seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Willans for as long as he can get away with.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Willans is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Anstey asserts his dominance and retains side control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Anstey takes a little break here. Willans wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Willans closes the distance but Anstey moves to the side

and Anstey counters with a single leg into guard. Willans didn't expect that.
Willans is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Anstey's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Bunny Anstey overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Bunny Anstey has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Willans darts in trying to clinch

and Anstey counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Anstey on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Anstey has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Willans after a bit of a struggle.
Willans tries to land a knee to the head but Anstey blocks with his arms.

Anstey jumps guard and drags Willans to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Willans won't allow Anstey to sweep him here.
Anstey pulls Willans in to control the position.
Willans wants to stand and escape but instead Anstey has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Anstey not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Anstey won't allow Willans to get back to his feet.
Anstey engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Bunny Anstey wasn't doing enough on the ground.

and Anstey counters with a single leg into guard. Willans didn't expect that.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Willans is wriggling around but Anstey manages to pass to half guard.
Anstey drops an elbow to the side of Willans's head.
Anstey prevents Willans from standing back up.

Anstey is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Anstey lands with a punch from half guard.
Anstey not doing much here.
Anstey thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Willans's head.
Anstey content to control rather than advance.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Willans can do anything to dispel that myth.
Willans is in trouble now - Anstey has advanced to mount!
Anstey looking to finish Willans with some ground and pound. This is bad for Willans!

Willans wants to get back to his feet but in bucking up he's left an arm hanging out! Anstey has locked onto it and has pulled off a slick armbar! Willans taps furiously! This one is all over!

A very excited looking Bunny Anstey rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
