Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Ross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karelin Roman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ross comes to the cage accompanied by Limp Bizkit-My way or the high way. John Ross had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Trevor Gratis and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ross forces Roman back against the cage and clinches.
Ross fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Roman has clasped his hands together around Ross's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Ross tries to get back to half guard but can't.

It looks like John Ross has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ross is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Roman working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.
Roman connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Ross some visible discomfort.
John Ross's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at John Ross's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Karelin Roman!
Karelin Roman was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
John Ross was interviewed post fight and said 'what can i say the other guy was just better.. congrats.. but our paths will cross again'.
