Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tony Mendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rocco Stupka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stupka has chosen Red Army March as his entrance music. Tony Mendez has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
44 - 25 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tony Mendez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
19 - 15 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rocco Stupka! The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Steve Montenegro and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stupka misses with a combination
and Mendez counters with a takedown into side control. Mendez will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Mendez working away. Stupka is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
It looks like Rocco Stupka has been cut. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Mendez is looking to take a break and control but Stupka is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Mendez fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Stupka tries to bench press Mendez off him but Mendez keeps the position. Stupka is still trying to improve position. You can see the frustration on Stupka's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mendez throwing shots but missing, from side control. Stupka is looking for a sweep. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Stupka stops Mendez from passing to mount. Stupka taking a bit of punishment here - Mendez scoring with strikes. Sloppy strikes there by Mendez. Mendez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stupka keeps working.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stupka tries to buck Mendez off but Mendez is having none of it. Mendez landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
That has opened up Rocco Stupka's cut even more. Stupka tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Mendez wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Mendez wants to control for a moment but Stupka uses the opportunity to move back to half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Stupka is looking to improve his position.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Stupka moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Mendez connects with a couple of short punches. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Mendez postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
The cut above Rocco Stupka's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Stupka trying to keep a closed guard but Mendez is proving a slippery customer.
Stupka keeping moving, preventing Mendez from controlling successfully. Mendez looking to sit in guard and control but Stupka gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stupka trying to control the position from guard on top but Mendez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mendez working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Stupka doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Stupka manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Stupka wants to control from the top but Mendez keeps moving. Mendez is trying to control the position but Stupka postures up. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Stupka wants to control from the top but Mendez keeps moving. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Stupka won't allow Mendez to sweep him here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stupka swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Mendez showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Stupka.
Tony Mendez is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Mendez with a lazy takedown attempt and Stupka counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Mendez thinking. Decent striking displayed by Stupka there. Stupka throws a combination that misses and Mendez decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Stupka's guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Mendez wants to control from the top but Stupka keeps moving. Mendez chips away with some ground and pound. Stupka avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Stupka controls Mendez momentarily but Mendez frees himself. Mendez is working Stupka over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mendez preventing the sweep. Mendez wants to pass the guard but Stupka is keeping the position. Mendez throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Stupka works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Mendez postures up in Stupka's guard and throws a big left but Stupka blocks it. Stupka wants to sweep but no luck. Mendez is looking to advance position but Stupka has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Stupka with a couple of short strikes. Stupka looking to control but Mendez is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mendez gets back to half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Stupka thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Stupka throwing shots but Mendez is blocking nicely. Mendez is not content to let Stupka control the position. Mendez tries to get to full guard but Stupka has control of the leg. Stupka throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Stupka scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Mendez trying to control but Stupka postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stupka missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Stupka trying to pass the guard but Mendez defending well. Mendez wants to get back to full guard but Stupka has passed into side control. Stupka wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mendez keeps working. Stupka advances to full mount. Tony Mendez overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Mendez is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Mendez tries to reverse the position but Stupka maintains control. Mendez sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Stupka throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Stupka trying to control from half guard but Mendez is working away. Mendez is looking to improve his position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Stupka is looking to stall here but Mendez recovers full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Rocco Stupka will probably get the nod - 10:9. The cut man is working on Rocco Stupka's cut. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Stupka throws a jab but it's blocked by Mendez. A swing and a miss from Stupka. Stupka takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Mendez throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Mendez dives in and grabs Stupka's left leg, looking for a takedown. Stupka pushes down on Mendez's head and hops out. The fighters circling - Stupka throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Stupka throws a leg kick that is checked and Mendez counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Mendez missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Mendez misses with a head shot. Stupka uses the momentum to regain guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Mendez trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Stupka manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
That's one minute gone in the round. Stupka is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Mendez managing to control the position. Mendez utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Mendez lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Stupka! Mendez misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mendez lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Rocco Stupka's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Rocco Stupka's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:31 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Tony Mendez! A very excited looking Tony Mendez rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
