Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cory Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Daniels (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Cory Rua!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Josh Daniels!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Wagner Zegers and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Daniels darts in trying to clinch
and Rua cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.


It looks like Josh Daniels has been cut.

Daniels scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Rua is trying to stand.
Daniels throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Daniels is trying to control the action in half guard but Rua is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Rua keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Daniels is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Rua has managed to free his arm - good work.
Rua looks like he's trying to stand up.

Rua kicks Daniels off and gets back to his feet.

Daniels drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Rua definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Daniels wants to control but Rua is keeping him busy.
Rua is pushing Daniels's head away, looking to escape. Daniels manages to hold on to the position though.

Rua parries the strikes from Daniels easily there. Daniels is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Rua to escape.
Rua is trying to get back to his feet.
Daniels trying to control the action but Rua is working from the bottom.

Rua bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Daniels looks for the body kick but Rua saw that one coming.

Rua tries to keep at a distance but Daniels has taken the fight into the clinch.
Rua is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Daniels lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Daniels wants to take a breather but Rua is having none of it.
Rua wants to get back to his feet.
Daniels keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Daniels is looking to stall here but Rua recovers full guard.
Daniels won't allow Rua to get back to his feet.

Rua manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Rua gets caught napping as Daniels dives in and scores a takedown. Rua manages to retain guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Rua manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Rua avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Daniels closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Rua quickly recovers to half guard.
Daniels looks winded!
Rua is trying to stand.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Daniels wants to pass the guard but Rua is defending well.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Rua tries to kick Daniels off but Daniels keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Daniels closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Rua keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Rua tries to kick Daniels off but Daniels keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Rua manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Daniels keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Daniels manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Daniels is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Daniels working a defensive guard but Rua passes into half guard.
Daniels is breathing heavily.
Rua is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Daniels trying to control from the bottom.
Rua lands with a punch from half guard.
Rua scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Rua takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Rua is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Rua seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Daniels wants to improve his position but Rua is controlling well.
Rua looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Daniels is trying to get back to full guard.
Rua is trying to control. Daniels wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Rua scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Daniels is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Rua scores with a couple of nice shots.
Rua looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Daniels won't allow Rua to pass to mount.
Cory Rua overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Rua working the head and body with strikes.
Rua working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.


Daniels is rocked!


That has opened up Josh Daniels's cut even more.
Rua perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Daniels is still in real trouble! Can Rua finish him?
Rua slips a nice elbow through Daniels's hands, connecting with Daniels's forehead.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Rua is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Daniels is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Cory Rua!
