Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mercurius Faunus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jere Stephens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jere Stephens is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mercurius Faunus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jere Stephens!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Santiago Holmes and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stephens shoots in looking for a takedown. Faunus tries to sprawl out of it but Stephens keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Faunus manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Faunus throws the left hand but Stephens avoids the punch easily.
Stephens misses with a wild combination.
Faunus fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Stephens has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Stephens fails with the takedown.
Faunus stuffs the takedown.
Mercurius Faunus has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jere Stephens.
Faunus slaps away a takedown attempt from Stephens, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Stephens moves out of range of the strikes.

That was a close round but I would say that Mercurius Faunus will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
