Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Aaron Escobar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Paredes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anthony Paredes will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aaron Escobar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anthony Paredes! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Frank Dennis and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A slow jab from Paredes misses its intended target. Escobar shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Paredes but Paredes pushes him off and we're back to square one. Excellent takedown into side control there by Paredes. Paredes tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Escobar is looking to reverse the position. Escobar manages to get back to half guard. Escobar wants to improve his position but Paredes is controlling well.
Escobar is trying to maintain the position but Paredes is very close to passing his half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Escobar is refusing to be controlled, as Paredes sits in half guard. Escobar on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Escobar tries to get out of the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Paredes perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Paredes scoring with strikes to the body and head. Paredes is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Escobar is looking for a sweep. Paredes is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Paredes wants to free his trapped foot but Escobar is holding on for dear life with his legs. Escobar controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Paredes wants to stand up but Escobar is controlling the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Escobar tries to roll over but Paredes keeps him under control. Escobar trying to control but Paredes postures up.
Paredes wants to lay and pray for a moment but Escobar keeps working.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Paredes lands a glancing blow to the side of Escobar's head. Escobar will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Escobar shoots in but Paredes avoids the takedown attempt easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Aaron Escobar. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Paredes throws a series of punches but Escobar avoids them all with ease. Paredes has his takedown stuffed so Escobar counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Paredes looks gassed! Paredes is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Escobar dives into side control.
Escobar looks up at the clock and then as Paredes takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Escobar smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

That's four minutes gone in the round. Paredes tries to hold on but Escobar pushes him away. Paredes is wriggling around trying to escape.
Escobar pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Escobar lands a heavy elbow. Escobar controlling the position easily from mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Aaron Escobar dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Excellent takedown into side control there by Escobar. Paredes wants to control but Escobar postures up. Escobar content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Paredes wants to get back to his feet but Escobar drags him back down. Escobar scores with a couple of short elbows. Paredes is breathing heavily. Escobar is chipping away with strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Escobar tries to move to mount but Paredes blocks the move with his legs. Escobar just content to control the position. Escobar scores with a couple of short elbows. Paredes is looking to get back to his feet here but Escobar is keeping cool and he's managed to take Paredes's back. Escobar is riding his opponent, not letting Paredes buck him off. Escobar has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Paredes trying to control the position but Escobar manages to sink in the hooks. You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Aaron Escobar just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Escobar fails to land the takedown.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Paredes gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Escobar is working Paredes over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Escobar slips nicely into half guard. Escobar trying to pass the guard but Paredes defending well. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Escobar in particular looking to stall.

Escobar is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Escobar seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Paredes for as long as he can get away with. Escobar wants to pass the guard but Paredes is defending well. Paredes is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Escobar scores with a couple of nice shots. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Aaron Escobar dominated that second round. That's time! Escobar's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Paredes clinches but Escobar breaks the clinch and Escobar counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Escobar. Escobar stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Paredes swivels though and keeps the full guard. Paredes working a defensive guard here.

And that's the end of the fight! Aaron Escobar showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Escobar, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
