Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brutus Nash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Donnie Yen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brutus Nash!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Donnie Yen!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Cecil Peabody and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yen fails with the takedown

and Nash counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Yen's guard now.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Nash stands and throws Yen's legs to the side, diving into side control.
We've been hearing good reports from Nash's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Nash throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Yen parries the strikes from Nash easily there. Nash is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Yen to escape.

Nash tries for a kimura but Yen is defending well.
Yen is pushing Nash's head away, looking to escape. Nash manages to hold on to the position though.
Yen takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Nash lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Yen down.

Nash cracks Yen with a big elbow.
Yen is looking to regain half guard here but Nash keeps moving and retains side control.
Yen manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Nash wants to improve his position but Yen is controlling well.

Nash makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Nash.
Nash wants to stand up but Yen is controlling him.
Yen pushes down on Nash's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Yen throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Yen throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Nash works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Nash is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Nash has his foot on Yen's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Yen works his way back into a safe position though.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Yen looking to improve position, pressing down on Nash's thigh with his hand. Nash seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Yen paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Yen's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! Nash picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
