The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machida moves to clinch but Ricardo breaks away
and Ricardo counters by clinching up.
Machida works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Machida is posturing up here but Ricardo has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Machida tries to roll out but it's too tight and Machida has to tap! Slick submission there by Ricardo!
