Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bazza Corderer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Olias Pasaltha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Corderer comes to the cage accompanied by WHEN WORLDS COLLIDE. Olias Pasaltha has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bazza Corderer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Olias Pasaltha!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Ron Honeybunn and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Corderer gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Pasaltha to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Corderer working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Pasaltha.
Pasaltha with a flurry of punches that miss.
Corderer is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Pasaltha keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Corderer's head.
Corderer avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Pasaltha postures up in Corderer's guard and throws a big left but Corderer blocks it.
Pasaltha makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Pasaltha working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Corderer's head.
Pasaltha throws a strike but Corderer rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Pasaltha is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Corderer is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Corderer definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pasaltha working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Corderer.
Corderer forces his way into half guard.
Pasaltha tries to kick Corderer off in order to stand up. Corderer Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Pasaltha is looking to reverse the position.
You can see the frustration on Pasaltha's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Corderer decides to stand back up.
Corderer throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Pasaltha misses with a takedown attempt

and Corderer counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Corderer breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Pasaltha drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Pasaltha really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Corderer. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Corderer is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Corderer looking to hit a scissor sweep but Pasaltha is one step ahead there.

Corderer escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Pasaltha gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Pasaltha must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Corderer wants to sweep here but Pasaltha controlling him for the moment.
Pasaltha stands up over Corderer, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Corderer is looking to stand up but Pasaltha isn't so interested in that idea.

Corderer is looking for a triangle but Pasaltha pushes his legs off easily.
Pasaltha loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Pasaltha trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Pasaltha working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Corderer's head.

Pasaltha with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Corderer not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pasaltha distracts Corderer with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Corderer has his hands on Pasaltha's head, controlling the position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Pasaltha lands a couple of digs.
Pasaltha with a nice head shot there.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Corderer avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Corderer is trying to control the position but Pasaltha postures up.
Pasaltha pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Corderer is keeping the position for now.
Corderer throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Olias Pasaltha dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Pasaltha throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Corderer's waist but Corderer gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Pasaltha off to one side.
Pasaltha shoots in for a double leg but Corderer sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Corderer closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Pasaltha to the mat! Pasaltha manages to get full guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pasaltha can do anything to dispel that myth.

Corderer drops back looking for a leg! Pasaltha is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Pasaltha manages to kick Corderer off! Corderer jumps back into Pasaltha's guard.
Pasaltha seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Corderer seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Corderer is looking to stand up but Pasaltha won't let him.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Pasaltha gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Corderer is standing up over Pasaltha. Pasaltha looks to escape but Corderer dives into side control.
Olias Pasaltha has got the better of the ground game so far.

Pasaltha manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Pasaltha wants to control but Corderer is keeping busy.

Corderer is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Pasaltha wants to get back to his feet.
Corderer wants to stand but Pasaltha has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Pasaltha gets back to full guard.
Pasaltha wants to stand but Corderer is controlling the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pasaltha keeping moving, preventing Corderer from controlling successfully.
Corderer wants to pass the guard but Pasaltha is keeping the position.

Corderer gets to his feet. Pasaltha looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Corderer displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Pasaltha.
Bazza Corderer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Olias Pasaltha.
Corderer lands a head kick!
Pasaltha looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Corderer looks for a takedown but Pasaltha sprawls well.

Olias Pasaltha seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Corderer counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Pasaltha's guard now.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Corderer stands and steps away. Pasaltha gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Pasaltha takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Corderer goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Pasaltha shoots for a double leg takedown but Corderer sprawls well. He's pushed Pasaltha's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Corderer jabs Pasaltha to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Corderer works over Pasaltha's head and body with a nice combination.
Pasaltha looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Corderer is fending him off so far but Pasaltha persists. Nope, Corderer circles away and we're back to standing.

Corderer looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Pasaltha is pressing down on Corderer's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Pasaltha wants to get back to his feet but Corderer is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bazza Corderer dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Pasaltha is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Corderer's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Corderer's back!

Pasaltha misses with an elbow to the head.
Corderer tries to escape but Pasaltha has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Corderer is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Pasaltha punishes Corderer with strikes from the back mount.
Corderer is taking damage to the body and head.
Pasaltha is looking to finish with some ground and pound!
You can see the frustration on Corderer's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Pasaltha has Corderer flattened out and is raining down punches.
The referee is taking a good look at Corderer as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Pasaltha!
Pasaltha lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Pasaltha.

Corderer can't escape the position.
Pasaltha lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
Pasaltha is hanging on to Corderer's back as he tries to escape.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Pasaltha cracks Corderer with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Corderer from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
Corderer trying to control the position but Pasaltha manages to sink in the hooks.
Pasaltha gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes.

Corderer might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Pasaltha lands a shot to the body.
Pasaltha throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Corderer!
Corderer turns into Pasaltha and is now in his guard.
Pasaltha pulls Corderer in close to prevent any damage.

Pasaltha is looking to stand up but Corderer isn't so interested in that idea.

Corderer is trying for a kimura here. Pasaltha looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Corderer wins by kimura!
