The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wardrop shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Wardrop was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Kimura manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Wardrop winds up and cracks Kimura with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Wardrop scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Wardrop looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Wardrop is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
Wardrop passes Kimura's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Wardrop wants to pass the guard but Kimura is defending well.

Wardrop is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Wardrop has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Wardrop prevents Kimura from standing back up.

Wardrop passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Kimura!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wardrop looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Wardrop breaks from Kimura's wrist control and lands an elbow.

It looks like Tatsuya Kimura has been cut.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Wardrop cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Wardrop looking to finish Kimura with some ground and pound. This is bad for Kimura!

Kimura is rocked!

Wardrop working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Wardrop lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Oh Kimura is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Tatsuya Kimura's cut is getting worse.
Wardrop loads up with a big shot that hurts Kimura! He's pulled Wardrop in close but Wardrop has postured up and lands more strikes. Can Kimura survive? More strikes from Wardrop and Kimura is out! The ref jumps in to save him! Brutal ground and pound!
