Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kubrat Pulev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Laak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Phil Laak was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Bart Greer and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pulev darts in looking for a takedown but Laak gets double underhooks and turns Pulev into the cage.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Laak.
Laak stalls.
Pulev wants a takedown but no success here.
Laak escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Pulev gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Pulev tries to pull guard but Laak won't allow it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kubrat Pulev. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Laak gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Pulev.
Pulev is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Laak is defending well.
Laak manages to break the clinch.

Laak should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Laak darts in and clinches Pulev up against the cage.

Laak misses with a looping right.

and Pulev counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Laak swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Laak's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Laak tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Laak lands with a light punch inside.

Laak digs a right hand into Pulev's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Pulev's gas tank.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Laak.
Kubrat Pulev's cut is getting worse.
Pulev is trying to pull guard but Laak turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Laak lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Laak's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Pulev tries to keep at a distance but Laak has taken the fight into the clinch.

Laak breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Nice defenses there by Pulev.
Phil Laak is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Laak dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Pulev. That did some damage!
Laak pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Laak throws the kick towards the body but Pulev avoids it.
Laak with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Laak throws a head kick that Pulev semi-blocks.
Kubrat Pulev's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

Pulev shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Laak as he jumps to the side.
Laak pushes Pulev up against the cage in a clinch.
Laak breaks from the clinch.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Laak - that will leave a mark!

Laak rushes Pulev and presses him up against the cage.
Laak with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Laak landing knees to the head.
Jeez, Kubrat Pulev's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
Pulev takes an elbow to the temple.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Kubrat Pulev's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
