Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Dutra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antonio Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dutra kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Meio Psicopata. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kevin Dutra! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Antonio Gracie! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Alexandre Firmino and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gracie slaps away a takedown attempt from Dutra, before circling back to the center of the mat. Dutra dives in for a single leg takedown but Gracie sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Gracie breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Dutra shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Gracie but Gracie pushes him off and we're back to square one. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kevin Dutra. That's going to take a lot out of him. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Dutra. Dutra closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Gracie's guard. Dutra throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Dutra is looking to work some ground and pound but Gracie has wrist control. Dutra in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Dutra looking to pass the guard. Our spies down at at Steel Penn - Elite Training inform us that Gracie has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off? Dutra trying to control the position from guard on top but Gracie is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dutra lands a couple of decent looking shots. Gracie keeping moving, preventing Dutra from controlling successfully. Dutra has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Dutra looking to pass the guard. Gracie is trying to keep Dutra in close.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. No luck for Dutra with that takedown attempt. Dutra fails with the takedown. Dutra shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Dutra was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. The strikes coming from Dutra are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Dutra tries to move to mount but Gracie blocks the move with his legs. Dutra is trying to ground and pound but Gracie uses the momentary lack of control by Dutra to regain half guard.

Dutra could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Dutra missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Dutra wants to pass the guard but Gracie is defending well. Dutra misses with a head shot. Gracie uses the momentum to regain guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dutra trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Dutra throws an elbow that misses. Gracie uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Dutra's guard. Nice move by Gracie! A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Dutra holds on and takes a little breather. Dutra is trying to keep Gracie in close.
Gracie wants to get up but he can't break Dutra's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Gracie trying to control but Dutra is working from the bottom. Gracie would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gracie looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Dutra is fending him off so far but Gracie persists. Nope, Dutra circles away and we're back to standing. Dutra gets the takedown into side control. Gracie regains half guard, as Dutra was trying to land strikes. Dutra throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Gracie to regain full guard. Dutra thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Dutra not landing any meaningful shots this time. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dutra thows a huge punch but Gracie dodges it nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Gracie is not content to let Dutra control the position. Gracie is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Dutra scores with a couple of nice shots. Dutra thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Dutra throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Dutra takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Dutra throwing shots but Gracie is blocking nicely. Dutra sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Gracie defending well though.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Dutra preventing the sweep. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dutra wants to control from the top but Gracie keeps moving. Dutra landing with the ground and pound. Dutra postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Gracie leaves Dutra with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Nice sprawl there from Gracie as Dutra shoots in. Nice body punch from Gracie. Dutra shoots in for a takedown but Gracie shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kevin Dutra. That's going to take a lot out of him. Dutra tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Gracie swivels and escapes. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gracie is defended easily by Dutra. Gracie scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Dutra dives in and grabs Gracie's left leg, looking for a takedown. Gracie pushes down on Dutra's head and hops out. Dutra shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Gracie as he avoids it easily. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Gracie has managed to clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie is trying hard to land a takedown here. Dutra sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Gracie scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Gracie shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Dutra as he jumps to the side. Kevin Dutra seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Dutra shoots for a takedown but Gracie saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Gracie tries to clinch but Dutra moves out of range. Gracie shoots in looking for a takedown but Dutra manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gracie's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Dutra closes the distance and clinches up with Gracie, looking for a takedown. Dutra pushes Gracie against the cage but Gracie circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Dutra takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Gracie changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Dutra tries to avoid it but Gracie manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Dutra to the ground. Dutra escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Dutra takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Gracie closes the distance and clinches. Dutra wants a takedown but no success here.
Kevin Dutra is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Gracie jumps guard and drags Dutra to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Dutra trying to control but Gracie is working from the bottom. Gracie wants to stand up but Dutra is controlling him. Kevin Dutra overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Dutra slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Kevin Dutra has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Gracie is trying hard to land a takedown here. Dutra sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Gracie leaves Dutra with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Dutra fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Gracie avoids it really well and circles away. Dutra shoots and misses and Gracie counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Dutra thinking. Gracie misses with a series of wild punches.
Antonio Gracie seems to be getting the better of the standup. Gracie rushes Dutra and presses him up against the cage. Gracie is looking to take this one to the mat. Gracie goes for a takedown in the clinch but Dutra prevents it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gracie's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Dutra scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Dutra is just content to waste time from the top position. Gracie takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Dutra not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Gracie keeping moving, preventing Dutra from controlling successfully.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Kevin Dutra! Kevin Dutra decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
