Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rick Mcintosh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Hardin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rick Mcintosh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 21 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Hardin!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Gwen Towbar and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Hardin enables Mcintosh to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Hardin manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Mcintosh trying to control the position from guard on top but Hardin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Hardin working a defensive guard but Mcintosh manages to pass into side control anyway.
Mcintosh knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hardin on the ground.
You can see the frustration on Hardin's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Mcintosh gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Mcintosh is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Rick Mcintosh.

Mcintosh rushes Hardin and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Hardin is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Hardin is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Mcintosh escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hardin lands with an uppercut that bounces Mcintosh off the cage and back into range.
Hardin shoots in but Mcintosh avoids the takedown attempt easily.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Hardin tries to pull guard but Mcintosh holds him up against the cage and eventually Hardin drops back down to his feet.

Mcintosh has picked Hardin up - he's going for a ride! Mcintosh dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Mcintosh is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Hardin wants to get back to his feet.
Hardin wants to control but Mcintosh is keeping busy.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Hardin fails with an attempt to clinch.
Hardin misses with a body kick.
Hardin shoots for a takedown but Mcintosh saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Mcintosh throws a body punch but Hardin moves out of range.
Mcintosh throws a right and a left that both miss.
Hardin shoots in for a double leg but Mcintosh sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Hardin digs a good hook to Mcintosh's body.
Hardin shoots for a double leg takedown but Mcintosh sprawls well. He's pushed Hardin's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Rick Mcintosh has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Hardin.

Mcintosh lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hardin circles away quickly and effectively.
Hardin stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hardin wants it to stay on the feet.

Hardin tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Mcintosh pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Mcintosh misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Hardin dives in and grabs Mcintosh's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mcintosh pushes down on Hardin's head and hops out.
Hardin tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Mcintosh fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Mcintosh has Hardin up against the cage in a clinch.

Mcintosh turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Mcintosh manages to end up in side control.
Mcintosh tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

Mcintosh in side control lands a decent elbow.
Mcintosh wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hardin keeps working.

Mcintosh wants to control but Hardin is keeping him busy.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hardin struggling a bit here.
Rick Mcintosh overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Mcintosh lands a few punches from side control.
Mcintosh tries to score with some ground and pound. Hardin controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Hardin regains half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hardin gets back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hardin throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Hardin is trying to keep Mcintosh in close.
Mcintosh sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Hardin's guard.
Mcintosh seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hardin does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Hardin is looking to improve his position.
Hardin is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Mcintosh is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Hardin is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Mcintosh pulls his head out easily.

Mcintosh decides to return to a standing position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

and Hardin counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Mcintosh is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Hardin's half guard.

and Hardin counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Mcintosh is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hardin is just riding it out for now. Mcintosh eventually gives up the hold.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Mcintosh is pressing down on Hardin's thigh, looking to free his foot. Hardin is holding on for now.

Hardin regains full guard. Nicely done.

Hardin looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Mcintosh is defending well. Hardin quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Mcintosh has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Hardin celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
