Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mendy Ripstein (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Demetrious Dodson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Demetrious Dodson enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mendy Ripstein!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Demetrious Dodson!
The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Chris Dean and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dodson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Nice body punch from Ripstein.

Dodson shoots in and bounces Ripstein off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Dodson trying to control the position from guard on top but Ripstein is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Dodson might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Ripstein haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Ripstein scrambles and gets back to his feet.
We've been hearing reports that Ripstein has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Dodson is looking to clinch.

Ripstein darts in and clinches Dodson up against the cage.

Ripstein keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Dodson's efforts to push away.

Ripstein tries to clinch there but Dodson circles away.

Ripstein closes the distance and clinches.
Dodson is trying to pull guard but Ripstein turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Ripstein really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Dodson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Ripstein fails in his attempt to clinch.

Dodson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Dodson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Ripstein is trying to get back to his feet.
Dodson tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

Dodson tries to advance to mount but can't.
Ripstein is trying to buck Dodson off.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ripstein is not content to let Dodson control the position.
Ripstein wants to get back to his feet but Dodson is dominant here and he's now got Ripstein's back!
Dodson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ripstein. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Ripstein holding both Dodson 's hands and preventing any damage.
Ripstein grimaces as he takes a shot to the body.

Dodson is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Ripstein knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Ripstein for a finish.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Ripstein circles away from the clinch attempt
and Ripstein counters with a one-two to the body.
Ripstein rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Dodson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Ripstein misses with a few strikes there.
Dodson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ripstein circles away.
Ripstein throws a series of punches but Dodson avoids them all with ease.

Mendy Ripstein has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Demetrious Dodson.

Dodson is working for takedown but Ripstein is calmly controlling the position for now.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
A frustrated look appears on Ripstein's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Dodson should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Ripstein wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Dodson tries to clinch but Ripstein is having none of it.
Ripstein misses with a jab, cross combination.
Ripstein tries to close the distance and clinch up but Dodson swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Ripstein stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ripstein wants it to stay on the feet.

Dodson is trying to control the action in half guard but Ripstein is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Dodson is just content to waste time from the top position. Ripstein takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Ripstein is looking to stand up but Dodson isn't so interested in that idea.

Dodson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Ripstein sprawls well initially but Dodson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Dodson misses with a head shot. Ripstein uses the momentum to regain guard.
Dodson won't allow Ripstein to get back to his feet.
Dodson stands and throws Ripstein's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Dodson wants to control but Ripstein is keeping him busy.
Ripstein wants to get back to his feet but Dodson drags him back down.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Dodson is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Dodson wants to stand but Ripstein has his arm trapped.

Dodson throws an elbow but Ripstein slips to the side and avoids it well.
Ripstein wants to get back to his feet but Dodson drags him back down.

Dodson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Ripstein has escaped the position, nice work there.

Dodson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Ripstein is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Dodson throws a strike aimed at the side of Ripstein's head but Ripstein avoids it well.
