Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jordan Vargas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Anselmi Horila!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Micheangelo Fripello and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horila checks the leg kick nicely there.
Vargas feints a jab promting Horila to slip. Vargas then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Horila slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.


It looks like Anselmi Horila has been cut.
Vargas paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.


Horila is rocked!

Vargas clinches up against the cage.
Horila is still on wobbly legs! Can Vargas finish him?
Vargas wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Horila has him pressed against the cage.
Horila seems to have recovered his senses.
Vargas gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Horila.
Horila wants a takedown but no success here.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Horila is working for takedown but Vargas is calmly controlling the position for now.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Horila has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Jordan Vargas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anselmi Horila.
Horila has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Vargas avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Horila fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Horila is looking for a takedown.
Vargas tries to break the clinch but Horila is controlling the position.
Vargas looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Vargas is pressed up against the cage. Horila has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Vargas down to the mat. Vargas avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Horila tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Vargas lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Vargas tries a head kick but it misses.
Vargas throws a sloppy head kick and Horila moves out of range easily.
Vargas misses with a low kick.
Sloppy strikes from Vargas. Those never looked like landing.
Vargas throws a shot to the body.
Horila looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
A leg kick checked by Horila.
Horila blocks a head kick by Vargas.
Vargas throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Vargas connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Vargas lands a nice looking body shot.
Horila fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Horila looks winded!
Vargas misses with a wild body shot.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Horila takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Vargas throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Horila.
Vargas lands with a shot to the body.
Horila takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
A head kick misses from Vargas.
Vargas connects with the punch.


That has opened up Anselmi Horila's cut even more.
Jordan Vargas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Horila takes one on the button.
Vargas looks to land a combination but Horila avoids it well.
Vargas cracks Horila on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Horila falls backwards against the cage. Vargas follows up with more strikes that drop Horila to his knees. Vargas keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Horila! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jordan Vargas!
