PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Warren G Benz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shnashnushni Shnanknerabner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Benz comes to the cage accompanied by Gaff's Eulogy by Andrew Bayer. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Warren G Benz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Shnashnushni Shnanknerabner!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Steve Smith and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benz misses with an uppercut.
Benz staying out of range there.
Benz moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
We've been told by Benz's head coaches at ROCK-A-FELLA FIGHT CLUB that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Benz throws a lazy uppercut
and Shnanknerabner counters with a stiff right hand.
Benz looks to land a left hand but Shnanknerabner moved out of range nicely.

Benz lands a slapping body shot.
Shnanknerabner swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Nice jab there from Benz.
Benz jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Shnanknerabner uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Benz.
Shnanknerabner jabs Benz to the body, keeping him at a distance.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Shnanknerabner connects with a right hand. Benz shakes it off.
Benz moves out of range of the strikes.
Shnanknerabner swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Benz throws a hook but Shnanknerabner avoids it easily.

Benz takes a swing at Shnanknerabner's ribcage but misses.
Benz misses with a straight right.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Benz jabs Shnanknerabner to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Shnanknerabner throws a hook to the side of Benz's head but Benz sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Benz throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Shnanknerabner on the side of the head.
Benz throws out a loose jab but Shnanknerabner uses good head movement to avoid it.
Shnanknerabner throws a hook to the side of Benz's head but Benz sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Shnanknerabner throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Benz's waist but Benz gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Shnanknerabner off to one side.
Warren G Benz is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Benz misses with an uppercut. Shnanknerabner saw that one coming.
Benz throws the left hand but Shnanknerabner avoids the punch easily.
Benz loads up on a big right hand but Shnanknerabner slips the punch.

and Benz counters with a nice right hand that sends Shnanknerabner toppling to the canvas! Shnanknerabner scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Benz finish him?!


Shnanknerabner is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The crowd cheers as Shnanknerabner lands an impressive looking overhand right. Benz doesn't seem phased though.
Shnanknerabner is still on wobbly legs! Can Benz finish him?
Benz throws a hook to the side of Shnanknerabner's head but Shnanknerabner sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Shnanknerabner ducks under a wild hook from Benz.
Shnanknerabner seems to have recovered his senses.

Shnanknerabner closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Benz's guard.

Shnanknerabner drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Benz dives on top into guard.

Shnanknerabner is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Shnanknerabner wants to sweep but no luck.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Benz wants to stand but Shnanknerabner has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Shnanknerabner working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Benz doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Benz manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Shnanknerabner has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Benz is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Shnanknerabner.

Benz stands up and beckons Shnanknerabner to his feet.
Benz throws the left hand but Shnanknerabner avoids the punch easily.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Benz takes one to the chin there.

Shnanknerabner throws an off balance right hand
enabling Benz to counter with a crisp jab.
Benz lands a lovely overhand right.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Benz lands a big uppercut and Shnanknerabner crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Shnanknerabner looks OK. Benz waves Shnanknerabner back to his feet!

Benz throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Benz moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Benz uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Shnanknerabner.
Shnanknerabner missing with a left hand there. Benz was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Benz lands with a massive overhand right! Stick a fork in Shnanknerabner - he's out cold! Ermm... I think I just mixed my metaphors but yeah... That was a nice KO! Big win for Benz!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Warren G Benz!
After winning the bout, Warren G Benz thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
