Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Zachary Mendoza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hiroyuki Okamoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mendoza comes to the cage accompanied by Back For More. Okamoto has chosen Feel the Drive as his entrance music. The key to victory for Zachary Mendoza has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Zachary Mendoza!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Hiroyuki Okamoto!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Okamoto throws out a leg kick but Mendoza moves out of range and Okamoto only half commits.
Mendoza swings widly with a right hand
and Okamoto makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Mendoza throws a jab but it's blocked by Okamoto.
Mendoza misses with a hook.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Nice defenses there by Okamoto.
Mendoza pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Okamoto back to the cage. Mendoza follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Okamoto throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Okamoto looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Mendoza tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Okamoto looks to land a combination but Mendoza avoids it well.
The fighters circling - Mendoza throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Mendoza throws a hook but Okamoto blocks it.
Okamoto throws a leg kick but Mendoza sees it coming and moves out of range.
Okamoto throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Okamoto finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Okamoto throws a body punch but Mendoza moves out of range.
Mendoza rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Okamoto moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
A jab from Mendoza finds it's way through Okamoto's defenses.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Mendoza on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Hiroyuki Okamoto seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Okamoto wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Okamoto thumps Mendoza with a low kick.
Okamoto throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Okamoto uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Mendoza.
Okamoto tries a low kick but Mendoza avoids it.
Okamoto misses with a low kick as Mendoza jumps back.
Mendoza scores with a one two! Okamoto had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Mendoza is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Okamoto.
A telegraphed right hand from Mendoza misses the target.
A big left from Mendoza misses.
Okamoto swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Mendoza on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Okamoto. Okamoto obviously looking to wear him down.
Okamoto tries to land a front kick but Mendoza steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Okamoto misses with a low kick.
Okamoto pushes Mendoza away with a front kick.
Some bone on bone action there as Mendoza checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Mendoza scores with a jab. Okamoto acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Okamoto digs a good body shot into Mendoza's ribs.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Okamoto shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Mendoza lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Mendoza throws the left hand but Okamoto avoids the punch easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Okamoto scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Okamoto misses with a low kick.
Mendoza lands with a nice body punch.
Mendoza fails to land with a series of punches.
Mendoza scores with a jab to the head.
Okamoto tries to score with a low kick but Mendoza moves his leg out of the way.
A solid leg kick lands there for Okamoto.
Mendoza connects with a right hand. Okamoto shakes it off.
Okamoto throws out a leg kick but Mendoza moves out of range and Okamoto only half commits.
Okamoto fakes the leg kick and cracks Mendoza in the body.
Mendoza dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Nice straight punches there by Mendoza. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Mendoza.

Good work by Mendoza as he checks the leg kick.
Okamoto throws a leg kick but Mendoza checks it.
A decent looking cross lands there for Mendoza.
Mendoza is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Mendoza moves out of range of the body kick.
Okamoto steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Mendoza.

Mendoza tries to bum rush Okamoto with a series of wild strikes but Okamoto uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Mendoza changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Mendoza cracks Okamoto with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Okamoto throws a leg kick but Mendoza checks it.
Mendoza throws out a loose jab but Okamoto uses good head movement to avoid it.
A lazy left from Mendoza finds it's target.
Okamoto misses the shot to the body.
Okamoto ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Okamoto pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Okamoto lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Mendoza is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Mendoza ducks under a wild hook from Okamoto.
Mendoza throws the left hand but Okamoto avoids the punch easily.
That kick from Okamoto tenderised Mendoza's leg. Mendoza is trying to keep his angry face on.
Mendoza lands with a straight right. Okamoto didn't see that one coming.
Mendoza lands a jab to the nose.


Okamoto is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mendoza uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Okamoto is still on wobbly legs! Can Mendoza finish him?
Okamoto tries to work over Mendoza's front leg with a kick but Mendoza checks it.
Mendoza fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Okamoto to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Okamoto looks to clinch but Mendoza throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Okamoto taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Zachary Mendoza!
Zachary Mendoza spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
