Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Carl Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pirulito Bate Bate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pirulito Bate Bate will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Carl Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Pirulito Bate Bate!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Johnson moves into the clinch.

Johnson breaks from the clinch.
Bate Bate throws a head kick but Johnson moves out of range.

Bate Bate has closed the distance and engaged Johnson in a clinch.

Bate Bate breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Johnson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Johnson tries for a kimura but Bate Bate is defending well.
Johnson sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Bate Bate is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Bate Bate sneaks back into half guard.
Bate Bate trying to control but Johnson postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bate Bate wants to get back to his feet.
Bate Bate punching from the bottom.
Johnson trying to control the action but Bate Bate is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Johnson is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Carl Johnson just wasn't active enough.
A telegraphed right hand from Bate Bate misses the target.
Johnson blocks the body kick.
Bate Bate misses with a double jab.
Bate Bate looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Bate Bate looks to land a body kick but Johnson moved away.
Bate Bate throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Bate Bate misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Johnson closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Bate Bate's guard.
Bate Bate seems keen to control Johnson's posture.
Bate Bate is trying to keep Johnson in close.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Johnson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Johnson gets to his feet. Bate Bate looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Johnson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Bate Bate manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Bate Bate drives through with a takedown into Johnson's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Bate Bate wants to get up but he can't break Johnson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Bate Bate trying to control but Johnson is working from the bottom.
Bate Bate with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bate Bate tries to free his leg and advance position but Johnson is retaining full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bate Bate landing with the ground and pound.
Bate Bate wants to stand but Johnson has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Bate Bate stopping the sweep attempt from Johnson.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Johnson looking to control.
Bate Bate stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Johnson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Bate Bate stands and throws Johnson's legs to the side, diving into side control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Johnson is trying to improve his position.
Bate Bate misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Pirulito Bate Bate will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Johnson darts in and clinches Bate Bate up against the cage.
Bate Bate has Johnson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Johnson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Bate Bate prevents a takedown attempt there.
Bate Bate is trying to break the clinch but Johnson has him pressed against the cage.
Bate Bate is pressed up against the cage. Johnson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Bate Bate down to the mat. Bate Bate avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Bate Bate pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Johnson throws a looping overhand right but Bate Bate ducks down to avoid it.
The crowd cheers as Bate Bate lands an impressive looking overhand right. Johnson doesn't seem phased though.
A nice leg kick lands there from Bate Bate.
Bate Bate goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.


Johnson is rocked!
Bate Bate throws a front kick that sends Johnson stumbling back into the cage.
Oh Johnson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
A big right followed by a crushing left from Bate Bate knocks Johnson out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:54 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Pirulito Bate Bate!
In his post fight interview, Pirulito Bate Bate started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
