Condit is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Rage Against The Machine . Thomas Stevenson is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Condit tries to close the distance and clinch but Stevenson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Condit has managed to clinch.
Condit tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Condit misses with a punch to the body.

Stevenson has clasped his hands together around Condit's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Condit is looking for a sweep.

Stevenson decides to stand up, so the ref orders Condit to his feet.
Condit tries to bum rush Stevenson with a series of wild strikes but Stevenson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

OK we're going to have a standup here. The Condit hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Stevenson fails with the takedown.
Condit tries for a takedown but Stevenson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

and Stevenson counters with a good low kick that Condit was not able to check.

The Condit seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Stevenson counters with a big head kick but Condit shrugs it off.

Condit shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Stevenson sprawls well. Stevenson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Condit gets slowly back to his feet.

Condit fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Stevenson avoids it really well and circles away.

Condit shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Stevenson's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We're going to have a standup here because Thomas Stevenson wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Condit takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Condit utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Condit has had enough of the clinch but Stevenson keeps him there for the moment.
Condit tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Stevenson smiles and moves away.
Condit scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Stevenson doesn't seem bothered though.

Condit gets control of Stevenson's arms and successfully pulls guard. Condit will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
