Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Flemming Franz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nicky Sorensen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nicky Sorensen has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Flemming Franz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nicky Sorensen! The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Patrick Alders and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Franz looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Sorensen! Sorensen is not content to let Franz control the position. Sorensen is trying to buck Franz off. Franz wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Sorensen, who protects the arm well. Franz tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Sorensen tries to buck Franz off but Franz is having none of it. Sorensen is trying to control Franz's posture but Franz avoids it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Franz trying to control the position but Sorensen is working away. Sorensen tries to improve position but can't. Franz in side control lands a decent elbow. Sorensen defending against the ground and pound. Sorensen stops Franz from passing to mount. Sorensen on the wrong end of some ground and pound. You can see the frustration on Sorensen's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Franz wants to control but Sorensen is keeping him busy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sorensen is looking to reverse the position. Sorensen is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Franz off and has taken his back! I really don't envy Franz right now.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Franz wants to escape the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sorensen tries to get the hooks in deep but Franz pushed the leg off. Sorensen has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Franz has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Sorensen looking for the choke from the back. Franz really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Sorensen has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Franz is in bad spot here.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Franz just trying to survive but Sorensen is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sorensen is looking to control Franz but Franz is wriggling around and keeping busy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Flemming Franz dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Franz gets tackled into the cage by Sorensen. Sorensen maintains the clinch. Sorensen has Franz pressed against the cage.
Franz tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Sorensen drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

That's one minute gone in the round. Franz is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Sorensen to keep the fight standing. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Sorensen lands a left hand.
Franz is trying to break free. Sorensen breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Sorensen is defended easily by Franz. Flemming Franz is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Sorensen shoots for a double leg takedown but Franz sprawls well. He's pushed Sorensen's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Flemming Franz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nicky Sorensen. Horrible takedown by Franz or perhaps it was just good defense by Sorensen which made him look bad. Franz tries to close the distance and clinch but Sorensen swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Sorensen stuffs the takedown attempt from Franz. Franz gets slowly back to his feet.

Franz tries to clinch but Sorensen is having none of it. A head kick misses from Sorensen. Nice sprawl there from Sorensen as Franz shoots in. Sorensen has Franz up against the cage in a clinch.
Sorensen pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Franz wants to clinch. Franz has a takedown stuffed.
That's three minutes gone in the round. No luck for Franz with that takedown attempt. Franz drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Sorensen wants to control but Franz postures up. Franz controlling the position. Franz trying to control the action but Sorensen is working from the bottom. Flemming Franz overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

That was a close second round but I would say that Flemming Franz will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Franz looks for a takedown but Sorensen sprawls well. Sorensen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Franz's waist but Franz gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sorensen off to one side. The fight stays on the outside here - Franz looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Sorensen tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Sorensen shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Sorensen tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Franz manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Sorensen shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Franz eats them both and turns towards Sorensen to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
It looks like Flemming Franz has been cut. Franz clinches up against the cage. Franz jumps guard but Sorensen turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Sorensen managing to block the knees to the body from Franz.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Flemming Franz. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sorensen goes for a takedown attempt but Franz pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Franz changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sorensen tries to avoid it but Franz manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sorensen to the ground. Sorensen escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Franz misses with a takedown attempt - Sorensen sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Franz on the wrong end of a nice jab. Sorensen looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Franz is fending him off so far but Sorensen persists. Nope, Franz circles away and we're back to standing. Franz throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Sorensen. Sorensen fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Both fighters circling a little - Sorensen finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Franz shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Sorensen pinned against the cage. Sorensen gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Sorensen has a takedown stuffed. Franz throws a leg kick and Sorensen counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. This has been an exciting period of action! Sorensen lands with a shot to the body. Franz is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Sorensen closes this distance looking for a takedown but Franz circles away. Sorensen fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Franz avoids it really well and circles away. Franz is looking to clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sorensen throws a right and a left that both miss. Sorensen moves in looking to clinch but Franz pushes him off. Franz tries to bum rush Sorensen with a series of wild strikes but Sorensen uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Franz throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Nicky Sorensen seems to be getting the better of the standup. Sorensen defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Franz. Sorensen moves out of range of the body kick. Sorensen shoots in for a takedown but Franz shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Sorensen digs a good body shot into Franz's ribs. Franz keeps the fight on the outside. Sorensen tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Franz swivels and escapes. Sorensen keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Franz.

Sorensen tries to sprawl out of it but Franz keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sorensen manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Sorensen fails with the takedown.
And that's the end of the fight! Nicky Sorensen comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Franz has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
