Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sparky Sampson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chaly Kwidama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kwidama has chosen TRIBAL SEEDS- LOVE PSALM as his entrance music. Chaly Kwidama will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sparky Sampson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
17 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Chaly Kwidama! The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Wagner Zegers and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sampson misses with a combination
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Sampson throws a nice outside leg kick. Sampson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Sampson is working for a submission of some sort.
Sampson seems to be working for a kimura but Kwidama defends the submission attempt. Kwidama trying to hold on to Sampson's head to control him but Sampson postures up.
Sampson is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Sampson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kwidama defends it well. Sampson is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Kwidama as he works his way to full guard.
Sampson drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Kwidama dives on top into guard.

Kwidama wants to get up but he can't break Sampson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Sampson striking off his back but it's not causing Kwidama any problems. Sampson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Kwidama is aware though and is defending well. Kwidama must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

No, Kwidama has managed to get both his arms back between Sampson's legs - danger averted. Sampson working for submissions but it's allowed Kwidama to get to half guard.
Kwidama wants to stand up but Sampson has a hold of him and won't allow it. Sampson is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Pahuyuth Muay Thai 12 elite coaches, so we'll see if he gets out of it. Sampson is looking to improve his position.
Kwidama tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Sampson. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Sampson tries to roll over but Kwidama keeps him under control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kwidama utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Sampson is looking to work some ground and pound but Kwidama has wrist control. Kwidama wants to sweep here but Sampson controlling him for the moment. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sampson fails to land the takedown. Kwidama slaps away a takedown attempt from Sampson, before circling back to the center of the mat. Sampson tries to keep at a distance but Kwidama has taken the fight into the clinch. Sampson tries for a takedown but Kwidama manages to get underhooks.

Sampson decides to pull guard. Sampson is working an open guard so Kwidama takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Sampson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sampson darts in looking for a takedown but Kwidama gets double underhooks and turns Sampson into the cage. Sampson goes for a takedown in the clinch but Kwidama prevents it.

Sampson has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Kwidama after a bit of a struggle. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Sampson has picked Kwidama up - he's going for a ride! Sampson dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kwidama wants to control but Sampson is keeping busy.

Sampson has hold of one of Kwidama's legs. Kwidama is fighting the takedown attempt but Sampson gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Kwidama is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Kwidama has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Sampson has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. Kwidama breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kwidama wants to clinch but Sampson slips to the side and Sampson counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Kwidama's guard now. Sampson drops back, looking for a kneebar! Kwidama looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Kwidama looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Kwidama! Sampson sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Kwidama stands up from half guard. Kwidama dodges the punch combination from Sampson.

Sampson fails with a takedown attempt from distance. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Sampson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Sampson working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sampson is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Kwidama is trying to escape and Sampson transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Kwidama is forced to tap! Nice work there by Sampson! Very nice indeed!
