PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jan Blachowicz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Krzysztof Czeplak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Blachowicz comes to the cage accompanied by Radogost - Tam skąd pochodzę. Czeplak has chosen Do przodu Polsko as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jan Blachowicz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Krzysztof Czeplak!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Paulsen Ambrosius and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Czeplak needs to keep his hands up - Blachowicz had a free shot at his head there.
Blachowicz has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Blachowicz there as he acknowledges the shot.
Czeplak throws a big shot that misses.
Czeplak bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Blachowicz's head backwards.
Czeplak fails with an attempt to clinch.

Blachowicz moves into the clinch.
Blachowicz is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Blachowicz has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Czeplak regains guard immediately.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Czeplak keeping moving, preventing Blachowicz from controlling successfully.
Czeplak tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Blachowicz is looking to work some ground and pound but Czeplak has wrist control.
Blachowicz's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Czeplak is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Czeplak is trying to control the position but Blachowicz postures up.

Blachowicz stands up from guard. Let's bang!
A left and a right from Czeplak both land. Nice combination.
Czeplak stalks Blachowicz and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Blachowicz's face. Blachowicz staggers backwards, shaken.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Czeplak fails to land with a series of punches.

Blachowicz forces Czeplak back against the cage and clinches.

Blachowicz breaks from the clinch.
Blachowicz tries to bum rush Czeplak with a series of wild strikes but Czeplak uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Czeplak tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Blachowicz defends well and Czeplak ends up having to push Blachowicz into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Czeplak looks winded!

Blachowicz manages to pull guard.

Blachowicz is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Czeplak is aware though and is defending well.
Czeplak told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

Blachowicz has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Czeplak can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Blachowicz is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Czeplak in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Blachowicz is controlling Czeplak's posture.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jan Blachowicz wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Blachowicz closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Czeplak to the mat! Czeplak manages to get full guard.

Blachowicz wants to control from the top but Czeplak keeps moving.
Czeplak pulls Blachowicz in close to his closed guard and prevents Blachowicz from doing any damage or advancing position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Czeplak moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Krzysztof Czeplak will probably get the nod.

Blachowicz drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Czeplak keeping moving, preventing Blachowicz from controlling successfully.
Jan Blachowicz overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Blachowicz wants to pass the guard but Czeplak is keeping the position.
Czeplak seems keen to control Blachowicz's posture.
Blachowicz postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Blachowicz controls from within his opponent's guard.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Jan Blachowicz just wasn't active enough.

Blachowicz shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Czeplak manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Czeplak escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Blachowicz gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Blachowicz wants to control from the top but Czeplak keeps moving.
Blachowicz postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Blachowicz postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Blachowicz is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Blachowicz trying to control the position from guard on top but Czeplak is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Blachowicz loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Blachowicz works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Blachowicz stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Czeplak gets caught napping as Blachowicz dives in and scores a takedown. Czeplak manages to retain guard.

Blachowicz tries to free his leg and advance position but Czeplak is retaining full guard.

Czeplak is not content to let Blachowicz control the position.

Blachowicz in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Czeplak is tapping! That's the end of the fight!

A relieved looking Jan Blachowicz thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
The defeated Krzysztof Czeplak had this to say: 'I would do everything to fight better in the future. '.
