Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, William Drozky! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Colton Smith! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Cecil Peabody and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Drozky scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Drozky tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Smith defends well and Drozky ends up having to push Smith into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Smith wants to get back to striking at distance but Drozky won't allow it.
Smith keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Drozky's efforts to push away. Drozky breaks from the clinch.
Drozky tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Smith defends well and Drozky ends up having to push Smith into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Drozky has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Smith is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Drozky is defending well. Drozky manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Drozky working for a triangle but Smith defends it easily.
Drozky controls Smith momentarily but Smith frees himself. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Smith really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Drozky. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Smith tries to free his leg and advance position but Drozky is retaining full guard. Drozky scores with a couple of body punches from the bottom.
Smith drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Drozky manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Smith has Drozky in his guard. Drozky sitting in guard here, content to control. Drozky preventing the sweep.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Drozky trying to control the position from guard on top but Smith is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Drozky stands up from guard. Let's bang! Smith fails with the takedown and Drozky counters with a right hand to the body. Smith tries to clinch up but Drozky circles away and keeps his distance. Drozky misses with a takedown attempt and Smith counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Drozky! That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for William Drozky. That's going to take a lot out of him. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Drozky tries to get back to half guard but can't. Drozky is breathing heavily. Smith landing strikes. Smith wants to take a breather but Drozky manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Smith.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Smith has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Drozky is proving hard to escape from.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Drozky is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Colton Smith was stalling too much, according to the referee. Smith throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. A momentary lapse in concentration from Drozky enables Smith to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Drozky manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Drozky has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Smith off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Drozky shoots in for a double leg but Smith sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Drozky misses with a takedown attempt - Smith sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Smith fails in his attempt to clinch. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Smith doesn't manage to clinch there - Drozky circles away.
Smith tries a head kick but it misses.

A close round but Colton Smith will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!
Smith gets in close and instigates a clinch. Drozky wants a takedown.
Smith tries to circle away but Drozky has him pinned against the cage. Drozky ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Drozky no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Smith postures up.
Smith landing with the ground and pound. Smith wants to control from the top but Drozky keeps moving. That's one minute gone in the round. Drozky passes Smith's right leg, so he's now in half guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Smith can do anything to dispel that myth. Drozky sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Smith defending well though. Smith is trying to stand back up but Drozky is controlling him
Drozky not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Drozky wants to control but Smith is keeping him busy. Drozky is thwarting Smith's attempts to control the position. Drozky wants to take a breather but Smith is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Drozky is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Smith is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
The ref stands the fighters back up because William Drozky just wasn't active enough. Drozky stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Drozky wants it to stay on the feet. Smith throws a lazy head kick letting Drozky counter with a right hand. Drozky fails with the takedown and Smith counters by clinching up. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Drozky pulls guard successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Smith wants to get up but he can't break Drozky's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Smith is looking to work some ground and pound but Drozky has wrist control. Drozky can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Smith controls the pace. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Drozky is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith trying to get back to full guard but Drozky takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Drozky wants to control the pace but Smith is squirming around nicely. Smith is arching his back trying to strike from the bottom but Drozky turns him over and now has his back. Colton Smith has got the better of the ground game so far. Drozky missing with strikes from the back. Drozky avoiding Smith 's attempts to control his hands.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Smith wants to escape the position.

Smith wants to get back to his feet. Drozky is not going to allow Smith to sit and survive in this position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Drozky is hanging on to Smith's back as he tries to escape.

That was a close second round but I would say that William Drozky will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Smith is looking to clinch. Drozky fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Smith. Drozky forces Smith back against the cage and clinches. Drozky wants to take the fight to the mat but Smith manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Smith gets underhooks to prevent Drozky's takedown attempt.
Drozky is pressed up against the cage. Smith has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Drozky down to the mat. Drozky avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Smith tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Smith gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Drozky counters with a two punch combo. Smith darts in looking for a takedown but Drozky gets double underhooks and turns Smith into the cage. William Drozky has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Colton Smith. Drozky tries to break the clinch but Smith is controlling the position. Drozky connects with a knee to the head.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Smith is looking to take this one to the mat.

Drozky shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Smith defends it nicely. Smith tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Drozky defends well and Smith ends up having to push Drozky into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Smith looking to slow down the pace here. Smith is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Drozky to keep the fight standing. Smith's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Drozky is looking for a sweep. Smith is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Drozky tries to kick Smith off but Smith keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Smith is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Smith lands strikes from half guard. Smith is figuring out what he wants to do next. Smith tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Drozky. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Smith in particular looking to stall. Drozky wants to control the action here but instead Smith manages to pass to full mount!
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Colton Smith. I think Smith has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
