Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michal Velasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Michal Velasquez! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Peter Branson and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pushkin is looking to clinch. Pushkin pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Velasquez back to the cage. Pushkin follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
It looks like Michal Velasquez has been cut. Pushkin gets a takedown into half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Velasquez keeps control of the position for the meantime. Pushkin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Velasquez keeps working. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Velasquez missing with punches from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pushkin tries to stand and escape but Velasquez is controlling the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pushkin seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Velasquez does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin wasn't doing enough on the ground. Velasquez scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Pushkin is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Velasquez is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Velasquez is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet! Velasquez gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Velasquez keeping moving, preventing Pushkin from controlling successfully. Velasquez wants to get back to his feet but Pushkin passes into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Velasquez wants to control but Pushkin is keeping busy and won't allow it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pushkin is looking to advance position but Velasquez won't allow it. Velasquez looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Velasquez looks winded! Velasquez tries to roll over but Pushkin keeps him under control. Velasquez looks like he's trying to stand up.

Pushkin in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Velasquez tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Pushkin!
