The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez misses with a wild combination.
Lesnar moves away from the strike by Alvarez.
Lesnar looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Alvarez is fending him off so far but Lesnar persists. Nope, Alvarez circles away and we're back to standing.
A left and a right from Lesnar both land. Nice combination.

It looks like Dante Alvarez has been cut.
Lesnar shoots for a takedown but Alvarez saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
A telegraphed right hand from Alvarez misses the target.
Alvarez throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

It looks like Not Brock Lesnar has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Alvarez will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Alvarez swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Lesnar connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Alvarez's hands.
Lesnar throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Lesnar dives in and grabs Alvarez's left leg, looking for a takedown. Alvarez pushes down on Lesnar's head and hops out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Not Brock Lesnar. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Alvarez fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Lesnar dives in and grabs Alvarez's left leg, looking for a takedown. Alvarez pushes down on Lesnar's head and hops out.
Lesnar is breathing heavily.

Sloppy strikes from Lesnar. Those never looked like landing.
Alvarez slaps away a takedown attempt from Lesnar, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Alvarez has worked on his takedown defense in the runup to this fight and it is paying off so far.
Lesnar really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Alvarez closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Our sources have told us that Lesnar has been working on his elbows in the gym.
Alvarez tries to land knees in the clinch but Lesnar avoids the damage to the body.

Alvarez has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Lesnar uses from the top position.
Lesnar sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Alvarez's guard.
Alvarez is trying to stand back up but Lesnar is controlling him

Alvarez has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Lesnar is working away from the top position though.

Lesnar will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Dante Alvarez is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Alvarez tries to clinch up but Lesnar circles away and keeps his distance.
Alvarez lands with a right that hurts Lesnar. Lesnar looks to clinch but Alvarez throws a short knee that drops Lesnar. This one is all over!
