Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Chang Velez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vitor Stuart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chang Velez has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chang Velez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vitor Stuart! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Wesley Smith and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stuart clinches up against the cage. Velez is working for takedown but Stuart is calmly controlling the position for now. Velez pulls Stuart into guard.
Stuart wanted to stand there but Velez had control of the position. Stuart pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Velez is keeping the position for now. Stuart trying to control the position from guard on top but Velez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Stuart must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Velez is looking to stand up but Stuart isn't so interested in that idea. Stuart tries to stand but Velez is controlling from the bottom. Stuart being controlled here momentarily.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Stuart works Velez's body with a nice hook.
That's one minute gone in the round. Velez gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Velez keeping full guard, as Stuart tries to pass. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Stuart accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Stuart wants to control from the top but Velez keeps moving. Velez lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Stuart! Stuart tries to reverse the position but Velez maintains control. Velez is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Stuart can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Velez scoring with strikes but Stuart is staying in there. Velez looking for a guillotine from mount but Stuart is having none of it. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Stuart can do anything to dispel that myth. Stuart can't escape the position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Velez lands a big shot there that rocks Stuart but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Velez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Velez looking to secure an arm triangle but Stuart defends it well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Velez pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Stuart reaches up to try and control the position but Velez seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Stuart rolls and tries to escape and now Velez has his back!
Stuart is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Velez gets his way!
Velez lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Velez.
Velez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Velez is hanging on to Stuart's back as he tries to escape.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Velez punches Stuart on the ear. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Stuart is trying to break free.
Stuart trying to control the position but Velez manages to sink in the hooks. Velez connects with a big shot to the side of Stuart's head.
Velez is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Stuart with him. Stuart is trying to defend but Velez has an arm under the chin now! Stuart grimaces and is forced to tap out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Chang Velez!
