Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Oscralo De Santiuya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bj Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). De Santiuya comes into the arena with Nas - The Message blaring out of the sound system. Penn has chosen Like a Rose-A1 as his entrance music. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Wesley Smith and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Penn tries to clinch but fails miserably
and De Santiuya counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Penn's guard now.

Penn really doesn't want to stay on the ground with De Santiuya. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

De Santiuya postures up in Penn's guard and throws a big left but Penn blocks it.

De Santiuya tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Penn swivels and escapes.
Bj Penn is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
De Santiuya shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
De Santiuya fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
We've been informed that Penn has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Bj Penn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Penn doesn't manage to clinch there - De Santiuya circles away.
De Santiuya shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Penn defends it nicely.
De Santiuya bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
De Santiuya tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no De Santiuya has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
De Santiuya has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Penn has managed to clinch.
Penn stalling in the clinch but De Santiuya improves position.
Penn is trying to break free.
Penn's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
De Santiuya is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Penn to keep the fight standing.

Penn has had enough of the clinch but De Santiuya keeps him there for the moment.
De Santiuya manages to pull guard.
Penn must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Penn is sitting in close to De Santiuya's body. De Santiuya has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Penn is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Penn is tapping! That was a very nice submission by De Santiuya.

In his post fight interview, Oscralo De Santiuya started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
