Cox comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Seventeen - Sex Pistols kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Steve Cox has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johnny Bedford!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Steve Cox!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Gwen Towbar and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bedford needs to keep his hands up - Cox had a free shot at his head there.
Cox with a jab.
Bedford doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
A punch combination from Bedford misses.
No luck for Bedford with that takedown attempt.
Cox lands a nice looking body shot.
Cox lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Bedford at a distance.
Cox connects with a crisp jab.
Bedford tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cox swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Cox avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Cox has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Cox fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Cox scores with a jab. Bedford acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Bedford fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Cox sprawls well initially but Bedford persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Bedford stalling away here and it's allowed Cox to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bedford wants to get up but he can't break Cox's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Cox can do anything to dispel that myth.
Bedford stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cox swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Cox manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Cox scores with a couple of good head shots there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cox swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
