Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mike Lie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patrick Cote (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lie comes to the cage accompanied by we right here. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 28 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Lie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Patrick Cote! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Alan Glass and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cote clinches with his opponent.
Cote escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Lie tries to clinch but Cote moves out of range. Lie tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Lie closes the distance and clinches. Cote turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Cote decides to stand back up. Cote steps back and let's Lie get back to his feet. Lie throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Cote showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Lie.
Lie tries to clinch up but Cote circles away and keeps his distance. Lie throws a series of punches but Cote moves out of range. Lie rushes Cote and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Lie is trying to break free. Cote pulls guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Cote uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Cote keeps control of Lie as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Lie definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Cote slowing the pace effectively. Lie tries to break free but Cote pushes him back against the cage. Cote breaks from the clinch.
Danga de danga de dang - Lie scores with a four punch combination! Cote circles away from the clinch attempt and Cote connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Mike Lie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cote shoots in and bounces Lie off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Lie is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Cote is controlling him. Lie knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cote on the ground. Cote passes Lie's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Cote scores with a takedown into Lie's guard. Cote is stalling in the full guard. Lie wants to stand and escape but Cote is having none of it. Cote looking to control the position here, rather than advance. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Patrick Cote has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Lie lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cote circles away quickly and effectively. Lie moves in looking to clinch but Cote pushes him off.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lie looks to land a combination but Cote avoids it well. Lie closes the distance but Cote moves to the side letting Cote counter with a right hand. A punch combination from Lie misses. Cote throws a sloppy head kick and Lie moves out of range easily. Lie throws a right and a left that both miss. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Cote throws a nice looking combination but Lie bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Lie gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Cote to score an easy takedown into full guard. Lie wants to stand and escape but Cote is having none of it. Cote trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Lie wants to get back to his feet but Cote is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Cote trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Cote with a nice head shot there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lie has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Lie would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Cote is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Lie is looking to escape. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cote tries to pass to full mount but Lie defends it. Cote looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Nice strikes from Cote there. Lie looks like he's trying to stand up.

Cote perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Cote tries to pass the half guard into mount. Lie knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Patrick Cote hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Lie tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cote paws at him with a jab and circles away. Lie tries to clinch up but Cote circles away and keeps his distance. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Lie throws a right and a left that both miss. Lie is looking to clinch but Cote is avoiding it.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Cote is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Lie is just riding it out for now. Cote eventually gives up the hold. Cote trying to pass the guard but Lie defending well. Lie pushes Cote off and gets back to his feet. Cote shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Cote's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Lie is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Patrick Cote has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cote controlling from the top position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
OK we're going to have a standup here. Patrick Cote hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Lie takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Lie on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Cote. Cote obviously looking to wear him down.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Lie fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Patrick Cote showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Mike Lie is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Lie takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Cote moves into the clinch successfully.
Lie tries to circle away but Cote has him pinned against the cage. Cote decides to pull guard. Cote bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Lie's guard.

Both fighters are breathing heavily. Cote scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Cote is controlling the pace.

Cote is taking a breather. Lie says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Lie pushes Cote off looking to stand but Cote dives back in and keeps control.

Lie is looking to escape. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Cote is working for a kimura but Lie is defending it quite comfortably.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Cote in particular looking to stall. Lie throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Cote seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Lie is trying to stand.
Cote maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Lie could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Cote has cracked it and Lie is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Cote!
