Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nick Dick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eerik Rikkonen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Eerik Rikkonen will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dick goes for a double leg but Rikkonen avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Rikkonen continues to drive forward.
Dick is trying to drag Rikkonen to the mat but Rikkonen just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Rikkonen breaks from the clinch.

Dick shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Dick showed some decent athleticism there.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Dick connects with a nice short shot to Rikkonen's temple.

Dick looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Rikkonen with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Dick is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Rikkonen holds on for dear life.
Rikkonen can't escape the position.
Dick landing strikes from the mount.
Dick cracks Rikkonen with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rikkonen manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Rikkonen wants to control but Dick is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Dick winds up and cracks Rikkonen with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Dick is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Rikkonen reverses the position - he's now on top in Dick's guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Dick wants to get back to his feet but Rikkonen passes into half guard.

Dick is trying to escape back to his feet but Rikkonen uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Dick is pushing Rikkonen's head away, looking to escape. Rikkonen manages to hold on to the position though.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Rikkonen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dick keeps working.
Dick wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Rikkonen shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Dick but Dick pushes him off and we're back to square one.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Rikkonen enables Dick to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Rikkonen manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Nick Dick overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Rikkonen wants to stand and escape but Dick is having none of it.

Dick has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Dick lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Dick postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Rikkonen in real trouble here! The ref calls for Rikkonen to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
