Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Ivan Grozni!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Paul Tew and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ball closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Grozni did well to prevent Ball getting side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Grozni has one foot on Ball's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
A punch combination from Grozni misses.

Grozni closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Ball wants to improve his position but Grozni is controlling well.
Ball trying to control but Grozni postures up.
Grozni stalling away here and it's allowed Ball to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Grozni trying to control but Ball is working from the bottom.
Ball knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Grozni on the ground.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Grozni accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Grozni is stalling in the full guard.
We've been hearing good reports from Ball's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Ball not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Grozni scores with a body shot.

Ball dives in and scores a takedown into Grozni's guard.
Grozni is trying to keep Ball in close.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ball wants to stand and escape but instead Grozni has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Grozni is standing up over Ball. Ball looks to escape but Grozni dives into side control.

You can see the frustration on Ball's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Ball tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Grozni wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Grozni prevents Ball from escaping the position.
Grozni has knee on belly and moves into mount.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Grozni stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Grozni is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Grozni tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Ball swivels and escapes.
Ball takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Grozni misses with a double jab.

Ball closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Ball wants to stand up but Grozni manages to regain full guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Grozni is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Ball wants to stand but Grozni is controlling his posture from full guard.

Ball passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Grozni sneaks back into half guard.
Ball working over Grozni with some ground and pound. Grozni looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Grozni tries to get to full guard but Ball has control of the leg.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ball wants to stand but Grozni has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Big Ball will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action!



Ball closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Grozni to the mat! Grozni manages to get full guard.

Ball is sitting in close to Grozni's body. Grozni has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Ball is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Ball is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Grozni.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Ivan Grozni!
Ivan Grozni was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
