Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Darrell Watts!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Chris Franco!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Franco throws a head kick that misses.

Franco gets the takedown into side control.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Watts is pushing Franco's head away, looking to escape. Franco manages to hold on to the position though.
Franco is staying tight to Watts's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Watts wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Watts really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Franco blocks the strikes from Watts.
Franco wants to control but Watts is keeping him busy.
Watts sneaks back into half guard.
Franco trying to mount his opponent but Watts defends it.
Franco thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Watts's head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Franco slows the pace down in half guard.
Watts wants to get back to his feet.

Franco is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Watts is just riding it out for now. Franco eventually gives up the hold.
Franco lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Franco is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Franco content to control rather than advance.
Franco looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Watts with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Watts wants to get back to full guard.
Franco trying to control the pace.
Franco thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Franco controlling the action here.
Franco is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Franco content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Watts has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Franco is working away from the top position though.
Franco passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Watts!
Franco lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.


Watts is rocked!
Watts takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Franco's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Chris Franco!
