Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Merrill Ford (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin Hart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Merrill Ford has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Merrill Ford seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hart moves into the clinch. Hart has picked Ford up - he's going for a ride! Hart dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Ford looking for submissions off his back. Hart is looking to take a break and control but Ford is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Hart is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Ford flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Ford preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. Ford looks like he's trying to stand up.
Hart with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Ford has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Hart sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Ford defending well though. Hart tries to pass to full mount but Ford defends it. Hart is thwarting Ford's attempts to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ford regains full guard. Nicely done. Hart would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Hart trying to control the position from guard on top but Ford is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ford looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Ford tries to sprawl but Hart drives through with a takedown into half guard. Ford is staying active underneath Hart, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Ford wants to get back to full guard. Ford wants to control but Hart is keeping busy and won't allow it. The fighters are battling for position here. Ford manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Ford pulls Hart in close to prevent any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ford is trying to control the position but Hart postures up. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Hart is posturing up here but Ford has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Hart tries to roll out but it's too tight and Hart has to tap! Slick submission there by Ford!
