PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Larry Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniele Bolelli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Davis comes to the cage accompanied by Atomic Dog - George Clinton. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Bolelli.
Bolelli changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Davis tries to avoid it but Bolelli manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Davis to the ground. Davis escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Bolelli manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Davis on his heels. He'll look to pass Davis's guard now, I'm sure.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Bolelli drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Davis manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Bolelli has Davis in his guard.
Davis is looking to stand up but Bolelli won't let him.
Bolelli looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Davis puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Bolelli throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Davis escapes and throws Bolelli's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Bolelli has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Davis is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Bolelli.

Bolelli throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Davis's waist but Davis gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bolelli off to one side.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Bolelli.
Davis leaves Bolelli with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
