Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Enoch Casey! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Andrews Silver! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Seu Braga and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silver has a takedown stuffed. Silver shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Casey counters with a good, hard body kick but Silver shrugs it off. Silver gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Casey counters with a one-two to the body. Enoch Casey has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andrews Silver. Casey stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Casey wants it to stay on the feet. Silver fails with a takedown attempt. No luck with that takedown attempt from Silver. Silver shoots and misses and Casey counters with a lovely straight right hand! Silver shoots and misses and Casey counters with a nice body kick. Casey tries to close the distance and clinch but Silver swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Silver shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Silver postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silver is looking to work some ground and pound but Casey has wrist control. Silver missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Silver's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Casey is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Silver is in close to Casey's body, working some short punches and elbows. Silver cracks Casey with a solid left hand. Silver is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Silver working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Silver scores with a decent looking elbow strike. This has been an exciting period of action! Silver postures up and lands a big shot to Casey's brow. Silver postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Casey knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silver on the ground. Casey has momentary wrist control but Silver slips an elbow through the middle. Casey is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Silver defends well. Silver content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Silver's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Silver loads up on a big left hand. Casey felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Silver looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Casey can't hide his disappointment, as Silver celebrates the victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Andrews Silver! After winning the bout, Andrews Silver thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
