Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Molton Hope!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Josh West and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sabre moves in looking to clinch but Hope pushes him off.
Sabre tries to clinch but Hope moves out of range.
Hope swats away the attempt to clinch by Sabre.
Hope throws a big shot that misses.

Sabre drops Hope with a nice combination! Sabre dives into Hope's guard, looking to finish!


It looks like Molton Hope has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Sabre throws a big elbow that misses.
Sabre throws a strike but Hope rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Hope wants to stand and escape but instead Sabre has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Hope wants to sweep here but Sabre controlling him for the moment.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

and Hope counters with a nice body shot.

Sabre rushes Hope and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.
Sabre misses with a short punch on the inside.
Hope throws a knee to the head but misses.
Hope tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Hope blocking some punches.

Hope breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hope avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Sabre throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Hope stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Sabre follows into mount!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hope is working to get back to half guard.
Hope holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Sabre tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Carlton Sabre overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Hope is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Hope manages to regain half guard whilst avoiding the strikes.
Sabre is pressing down on Hope's thigh, looking to free his foot. Hope is holding on for now.
Hope has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Sabre is working away from the top position though.

Sabre is trying to control the action in half guard but Hope is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Sabre looks to land a strike but Hope avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Sabre throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hope works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Sabre postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


The fighters circling - Hope throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Hope ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Hope lands a jab to the nose.

Sabre moves into range and clinches up with Hope.
Hope tries a knee to the head but Sabre blocks it.
Sabre misses with the head strike.
Hope tries to score a body lock takedown but Sabre shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Hope is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Hope misses with a knee to the head.
Hope tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Sabre avoids it.

It looks like Carlton Sabre has been cut.
Hope with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Sabre scores with a jab. Hope acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Sabre lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Hope gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Sabre swats away the attempt to clinch by Hope.
Hope looks to land a left hand but Sabre moved out of range nicely.

Sabre moves into the clinch.
Sabre lands an uppercut.
Hope blocking some punches.
Sabre on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Sabre dodges an elbow strike from Hope.
A short right from Sabre.
Hope missing with knees to the body.
Hope misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Sabre.
Sabre misses with a short punch on the inside.
Sabre lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Hope.

Sabre turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Sabre manages to end up in side control.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sabre lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Hope down.
Sabre wants to control but Hope is keeping him busy.

Sabre postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Sabre misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Sabre wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hope keeps working.
Hope is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the ropes but Sabre has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Hope is looking to reverse the position.
Sabre cracks Hope with an elbow. That is naaassty.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Sabre in side control lands a decent elbow.
Sabre sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Hope is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Well Sabre has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
