The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machida misses the jab.
Machida bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Squibbles's head backwards.
Machida throws a right and a left that both miss.
Machida lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Squibbles uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Machida.
Machida lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Machida blocks a low kick nicely.
Squibbles closes this distance looking for a takedown but Machida circles away.
Anderson Machida seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Squibbles is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Machida!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Machida is in a horrible position here. Squibbles smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Machida can do anything to dispel that myth.
Squibbles is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Machida has managed to escape the submission attempt.
You get the feeling that Machida really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Squibbles is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Machida is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Machida flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Squibbles anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Machida and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Squibbles slips an arm under Machida chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Squibbles has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Squibbles is squeezing on Machida like an anaconda would it's prey. Machida fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
