Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kareem Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Reeves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alex Reeves will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kareem Evans!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alex Reeves!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, David Schapiro and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Evans tries to score a power double leg takedown but Reeves sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Evans somewhat.
Evans shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Reeves sprawls well. Reeves wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Evans gets slowly back to his feet.
Reeves tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Evans paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Reeves scores with a leg kick.
Evans avoids the head kick by Reeves.
Reeves misses with a double jab.
Reeves turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Evans has managed to clinch.
Evans is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Reeves is defending well.

Evans struggles to land a body shot inside as Reeves controls his hands.
Reeves throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Reeves tries to pull guard but Evans forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Reeves lands a body shot.
Knees in the clinch landing for Reeves.
Reeves jumps guard but Evans stands there with Reeves around his waist. Reeves gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Evans just leaning against Reeves, taking a breather.

Evans breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Reeves tests Evans's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Reeves looks to land a body kick but Evans moved away.
Evans could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Reeves tries to close the distance and clinch but Evans swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Reeves tries to clinch but Evans is having none of it.

Evans clinches with his opponent.
Evans has had enough of the clinch but Reeves keeps him there for the moment.
Evans tries to pull guard but Reeves holds him up against the cage and eventually Evans drops back down to his feet.
Reeves on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Reeves lands with a right to the head.
Reeves stalls.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alex Reeves dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Evans tries to land a leg kick but Reeves saw it coming and moves away.
Kareem Evans is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Reeves has Evans up against the cage in a clinch.

Evans manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Reeves manages to get himself to full guard.
Reeves is looking to stand up but Evans isn't so interested in that idea.
Evans wants to control from the top but Reeves keeps moving.
Evans slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Kareem Evans.
Evans tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Reeves swivels and escapes.
Alex Reeves seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That was a close second round but I would say that Kareem Evans will probably get the nod.

Evans stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Reeves swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Reeves swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Reeves buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Reeves rushes Evans and presses him up against the cage.
Reeves is looking to take this one to the mat.
Reeves takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Evans tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Reeves putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Evans in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.

Evans has clasped his hands together around Reeves's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Evans is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Reeves will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Evans works over Reeves with some ground and pound from guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Reeves keeping moving, preventing Evans from controlling successfully.
Reeves wants to get back to his feet but Evans is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
