Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Don Gable (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Hero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chris Hero will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Don Gable!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chris Hero!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Topper Green and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gable throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Hero tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Gable is in Hero's guard.
Hero wants to get back to his feet but Gable is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Gable working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Hero's head.
Gable trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Gable throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hero works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Gable showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Gable passes Hero's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Hero avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Gable.
Hero missing with punches from the bottom.
Gable stops Hero from getting back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gable working Hero over with strikes.
Gable wants to pass the guard but Hero is defending well.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Gable is looking to advance position but Hero won't allow it.
Gable thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Hero is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Gable scores with a couple of nice shots.
Gable with the ground and pound but Hero uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Gable chips away with some ground and pound.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Gable's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Gable trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gable content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hero keeping moving, preventing Gable from controlling successfully.
Gable lands a couple of elbows.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Gable with a flurry of punches that miss.
Gable throws a big right hand that misses.
Gable working some strikes from top position.

Hero looking for subs off his back but Gable has passed one foot through into half guard.
Gable is looking to take a break and control but Hero is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Hero wants to improve his position but Gable is controlling well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gable is nestled in close to Hero, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Gable trying to control from half guard but Hero is working away.
Gable is really struggling to control Hero but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Hero keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Gable working over Hero with some ground and pound. Hero looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Gable works his foot free and advances to mount.
Gable working away from the top, dropping strikes.


It looks like Chris Hero has been cut.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Gable is landing with some decent strikes but Hero is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hero is squirming around, avoiding Gable's attempts to control the action.
Gable breaks from Hero's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Hero taking shots to the head.


Hero is rocked!
Gable trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Hero can't escape the position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Gable lands a heavy elbow.
Hero is wriggling around trying to escape.
Gable with good strikes from the mount here!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Don Gable dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Chris Hero's cut.
That's time! Gable's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Hero defending well as Gable loads up on a big left hand.
Gable shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hero as he jumps to the side.
Hero throws a jab but it's blocked by Gable.
Gable misses with a wild combination.
Don Gable is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Gable throws a solid leg kick but Hero takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Gable.
Gable looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Gable is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hero can do to turn this around?
Hero misses with a low kick.
Gable slaps away a takedown attempt from Hero, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Gable drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Hero throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Hero keeping moving, preventing Gable from controlling successfully.
Gable lands a couple of elbows.
Gable scoring with punches to the head and body.

Gable avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Gable has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Gable is looking to work some ground and pound but Hero has wrist control.
Gable is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Gable's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Gable slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Gable is looking to take a break and control but Hero is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Gable here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Gable in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.


That has opened up Chris Hero's cut even more.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hero is trying to control Gable's posture but Gable avoids it.
Gable is staying tight to Hero's torso, preventing him from escaping.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gable cracks Hero with a big elbow.


The cut above Chris Hero's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Hero gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gable drops an elbow to the side of Hero's head.
Hero is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Gable jumps into side control!
Gable lands a decent elbow from side control.


Chris Hero's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Chris Hero's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Don Gable!
