Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lionel Matias (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Major Major (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Matias might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Himno nacional argentino. Major has chosen Iron Man as his entrance music. 1 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Major Major! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Hirohito Nitta and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Matias closes the distance and clinches. Matias is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Matias trying to land knees to the body.
Matias definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Major misses with a hook to the ribs.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Matias wants to get up but he can't break Major's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Matias throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Major is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Matias is controlling him. Matias won't allow Major to sweep him here. Major is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Major is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Matias seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

This has been an exciting period of action! Matias wants to pass the guard but Major is defending well. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Major can do anything to dispel that myth.

Matias has hold of Major's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Major manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Matias blocks Major's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. Major is desperately trying to improve his position but Matias has a good base and remains in mount. Matias can't control as he wanted to and Major manages to get the fight back to his half guard. Major is looking to escape. Matias prevents Major from improving his position. Matias is keen to just control but Major is a slippery customer.

Matias wants to lay and pray for a moment but Major keeps working. Matias moves nicely into side control. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Matias tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Matias tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Major wants to get back to his feet but Matias drags him back down. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Major Major seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Matias darts in and clinches Major up against the cage. Major keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Matias's efforts to push away. Major avoids the elbow strike from Matias, against the cage.

Major doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Major manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Major is in close to Matias's body, working some short punches and elbows. Major tries to stand but Matias is controlling from the bottom. Matias has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Major throws a big right hand that misses. Major landing some decent shots from guard. Lionel Matias overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Major distracts Matias with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

You can't force these things though and Major defends well. Major lands a couple of digs. Major thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Major lands a couple of elbows. Major is looking to stand up but Matias won't let him.

Matias bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Major's guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Major wants to stand and escape but Matias is having none of it. Matias is rocked! Major arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Matias's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!

A very excited looking Major Major made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
