PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Phreak Nakkan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrew Rock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nakkan's entrance music is Voodoo. A fine choice. Phreak Nakkan had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 156.8lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nakkan forces Rock back against the cage and clinches.

Nakkan is trying to trip Rock. He has hold of a leg but Rock is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Nakkan persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Nakkan will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Rock pulls Nakkan in to control the position.
Rock trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Rock controlling Nakkan's posture.

Rock looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Rock working a defensive guard but Nakkan manages to pass into side control anyway.

Nakkan really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Rock has his hands on Nakkan's head, controlling the position.

Nakkan gets to his feet. Rock looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Rock fails with a takedown attempt.
Rock shoots in for a takedown but Nakkan shows good takedown defense.
Rock dives in and grabs Nakkan's left leg, looking for a takedown. Nakkan pushes down on Rock's head and hops out.
Phreak Nakkan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andrew Rock.
Rock fails with an attempt to clinch.
Rock misses with a head kick.
Rock goes for a double leg but Nakkan avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Nakkan continues to drive forward.
Rock is trying to force a seperation but Nakkan has the dominant position.
Rock has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Nakkan is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Nakkan tightens his grip and picks Rock up, before dumping him to the ground. Rock manages to land in guard.

Nakkan wants to control from the top but Rock keeps moving.
Nakkan wants to stand and escape but instead Rock has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Nakkan is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Rock avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Nakkan is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Rock is aware though and is defending well.

Nakkan is trying to control the position but Rock postures up.
Rock passes Nakkan's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Rock is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nakkan is looking to control Rock's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Nakkan avoid being mounted?
Rock thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Nakkan's head.

Nakkan gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Rock wants to get back to striking at distance but Nakkan won't allow it.
