Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shelton Joseph (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos Quirant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shelton Joseph! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carlos Quirant! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Cecil Peabody and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Joseph leaves Quirant with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Quirant tries to clinch but Joseph is having none of it. Quirant tries for a takedown but Joseph circles away easily and Joseph counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Joseph wants to stand up but Quirant has a hold of him and won't allow it. Joseph passes into side control, despite Quirant's attempt to control the position.
Quirant struggling a bit here. Joseph just content to control the position. Quirant is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Joseph is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
That's one minute gone in the round. Joseph cracks Quirant with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Joseph avoids the attempt from Quirant to control. Quirant tries to get back to half guard but can't. A nice elbow there by Joseph. Joseph tries to control but Quirant wriggling away. Joseph is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent. The referee warns Quirant that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Quirant has left one of his arms exposed and Joseph doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Quirant screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
