Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Julian Sabba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruce Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Julian Sabba has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 1, fighting out of The Island, Julian Sabba!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bruce Lee!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Bart Greer and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sabba scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!


It looks like Bruce Lee has been cut.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Sabba enables Lee to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Sabba manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Sabba seems keen to control Lee's posture.
Sabba knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lee on the ground.
Lee pushes down on Sabba's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Sabba is staying active underneath Lee, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Sabba is trying to get back to full guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Sabba tries to kick Lee off but Lee keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Lee is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Sabba sees it coming and defends easily.
Lee seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Lee throwing shots but Sabba is blocking nicely.
Lee thows a huge punch but Sabba dodges it nicely.
Lee moves nicely into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lee decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Lee takes a swing at Sabba's ribcage but misses.
Sabba throws the kick towards the body but Lee avoids it.
Lee scoring well with a low kick there.

Lee manages to break the clinch.
Lee circles away from the clinch attempt.
Sabba throws a series of punches but Lee moves out of range.
Sabba steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Lee. That one must have hurt.
Sabba is breathing heavily.

Lee rushes Sabba and presses him up against the cage.

Sabba tries to break free but Lee pushes him back against the cage.
Sabba has a couple of punches blocked by Lee.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Lee is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Sabba wants to stand but Lee is controlling his posture from full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Lee had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Sabba defends it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bruce Lee dominated that round.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


A combination from Sabba does no damage.
Sabba tries a head kick but it misses.

Sabba gets caught flat footed, as Lee shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Lee trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sabba is striking off his back. Lee thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard.

Lee postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Sabba to stand up.
Julian Sabba is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Lee fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sabba, pushing him back against the cage.

Lee jumps guard.

Lee manages to escape and get back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lee throws a lazy right hand but Sabba sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Sabba throws out a powerful jab.
Sabba works the jab nicely.
Sabba doesn't manage to clinch there - Lee circles away.
Sabba closes this distance looking for a takedown but Lee circles away.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Sabba throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Lee uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Sabba.
Sabba throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Sabba tries to clinch but Lee is having none of it.
Julian Sabba seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Lee moves into the clinch.
Lee lands a good knee to the midsection. Sabba won't want to take too many of those.
Sabba jumps guard but Lee turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Lee is stalling here.

Lee escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Sabba keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Lee controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Lee's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Lee drops back looking for a leg! Sabba is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Sabba manages to kick Lee off! Lee jumps back into Sabba's guard.
Lee prevents Sabba from getting back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sabba wants to control but Lee passes easily into half guard.
Lee takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Lee is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Lee passes the guard and advances to mount!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Lee controlling his opponent.
Lee scoring with strikes but Sabba is staying in there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bruce Lee showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Sabba chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Lee can pounce on him.
Sabba lands a jab-cross combination.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Sabba!
Sabba tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Lee is able to avoid easily.
A jab from Lee misses.
Julian Sabba is winning the standup battle so far.
Sabba tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lee swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Lee clinches.

Sabba is trying to break free.

Lee lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Lee is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Lee controlling the position easily from mount.
Bruce Lee has got the better of the ground game so far.

Lee has control of Sabba's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Sabba regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Lee has hold of Sabba's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Sabba manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Lee wants to finish this one by submission but Sabba is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Lee.

Lee looking for a guillotine from mount but Sabba is having none of it.
Sabba is squirming around, avoiding Lee's attempts to control the action.

Lee is standing up, even though he is in mount.

Sabba gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Lee's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Lee passes Sabba's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Lee is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

And that's the end of the fight!
Bruce Lee comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Lee winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
