Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alberich Svensson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marcos Pontes! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Gwen Towbar and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Svensson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Pontes circles away from the clinch attempt.
Svensson closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Pontes did well to prevent Svensson getting side control. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Pontes looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Pontes moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Pontes has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Svensson should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Pontes has tightened it up now! Svensson should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Marcos Pontes!
