PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Roman Goodman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sanchez has chosen kill the king by Megadeth as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Roman Goodman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rick Sanchez!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Igor Prikhodko and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sanchez gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Goodman jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Sanchez walks away with a smile on his face. Goodman gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Goodman tries to sprawl but Sanchez drives through with a takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Goodman tries to kick Sanchez off in order to stand up. Sanchez Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
You can see the frustration on Goodman's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Sanchez in side control lands a decent elbow.
Goodman is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Sanchez asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Sanchez has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Goodman prevents Sanchez from moving into mount.
Goodman pushes Sanchez away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Sanchez gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Goodman takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Goodman tries to control but Sanchez manages to take his back.
Goodman might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Sanchez controls the action.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sanchez is not going to allow Goodman to sit and survive in this position.

Sanchez has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Goodman is defending well but eventually Sanchez manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Goodman has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
