Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
18 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Phoenix Miyamoto! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
36 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Vadim Vadokowich! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Taro Takaoka and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Miyamoto tries to clinch but Vadokowich is having none of it. Phoenix Miyamoto seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Vadokowich tries a low kick but Miyamoto avoids it. Miyamoto takes the fight into the clinch. A short right from Vadokowich on the inside. Vadokowich lands a body punch in the clinch. Vadokowich tries a body shot but Miyamoto blocks it.
Miyamoto has Vadokowich pushed against the cage. Vadokowich swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Miyamoto misses with an elbow strike.
A right hook to the body lands for Vadokowich.
Miyamoto working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Vadokowich has a couple of punches blocked by Miyamoto.

Miyamoto lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Miyamoto is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Vadokowich is defending well for now. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Vadokowich will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Miyamoto up against the cage. Vadokowich lands a nice uppercut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vadokowich blocking some punches.
Vadokowich misses with a short punch on the inside. Still in the clinch, Miyamoto scores with a nice short uppercut. Miyamoto creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Vadokowich's defenses.
It looks like Vadim Vadokowich has been cut. Vadokowich lands a right hand that snaps the head of Miyamoto backwards. Vadokowich pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Crunch! Vadokowich slams his shin into Miyamoto's torso. Miyamoto tries to clinch and Vadokowich counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. A looping hook to the body misses from Miyamoto. Vadokowich does a little dance to reset his feet. Miyamoto tries to close the distance and clinch but Vadokowich swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Miyamoto looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Miyamoto throws a nice looking combination but Vadokowich bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Miyamoto throws a series of punches but Vadokowich avoids them all with ease. Vadokowich lands with a nice body punch. Vadokowich misses with a body kick. Vadokowich pulls out of a head kick attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Vadokowich gets through Miyamoto's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Vadokowich creates some distance for himselfand unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Miyamoto's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Miyamoto drops to his knees and Vadokowich pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Vadim Vadokowich! Vadim Vadokowich retains his welterweight title! A very excited looking Vadim Vadokowich made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
