Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tyree Nicholson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Paul Pepper!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pepper misses with a wild combination.
Nicholson takes one on the chin but seems OK.


It looks like Tyree Nicholson has been cut.
Nicholson needs to keep his hands up - Pepper had a free shot at his head there.
Pepper tries to clinch there but Nicholson circles away.
Pepper shoots in looking for a takedown but Nicholson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Pepper's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Pepper gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Nicholson decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Pepper's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Pepper wants to stand up but Nicholson is controlling him.
Pepper can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Nicholson controls the pace.
Nicholson connects with a couple of short punches.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Nicholson stands up and waves to Pepper to follow him.
Pepper dives in for a single leg takedown but Nicholson sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Tyree Nicholson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Pepper.
Nicholson is stalling here.

Pepper decides to pull guard.
Pepper wants to get back to his feet but Nicholson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Nicholson gets to his feet. Pepper looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pepper has his takedown stuffed
and Nicholson counters with a left and a right that stings Pepper.
Pepper looks winded!

Nicholson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Nicholson is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Pepper looks calm but he's in trouble here. Nicholson gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Pepper is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Nicholson lets go of the hold and Pepper can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Tyree Nicholson!
