Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Apolo Redondo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Gregory (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Apolo Redondo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Gregory! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gregory shoots in but Redondo avoids the takedown attempt easily. John Gregory seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Redondo fails with the takedown. Redondo shoots in and bounces Gregory off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Redondo lands a couple of decent looking shots. Redondo postures up.
Redondo lands a couple of digs. Redondo throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Redondo postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Redondo's corner is telling him to maintain position. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
That's one minute gone in the round. Redondo working some strikes from top position. Redondo controlling from the top position. Redondo has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Apolo Redondo has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. The fight moves into the clinch position. Gregory fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Redondo stalling.
Redondo gets a trip takedown into half guard. Redondo knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gregory on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gregory is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Ground and pound from Redondo. Redondo sitting and controlling from the half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Redondo slips a nice elbow through Gregory's hands, connecting with Gregory's forehead. Redondo looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Gregory throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Gregory has hold of Redondo's hands but Redondo slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Redondo is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Redondo content to control rather than advance. Redondo drops an elbow to the side of Gregory's head. Gregory punching from the bottom.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Redondo lands a nice short elbow. Redondo working over Gregory with some ground and pound. Gregory looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Gregory looks winded! Redondo controlling the pace. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Redondo seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Gregory for as long as he can get away with.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nice strikes from Redondo there. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Redondo is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Redondo landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Well, if Redondo is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Apolo Redondo dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Redondo closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The referee asks Redondo politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Redondo prefers to stall for the moment though. Gregory struggling a bit here. Redondo in side control, just content to control the action for now. Gregory takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Redondo scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Gregory to see if he's OK.
Gregory is rocked! Gregory takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Gregory is still in real trouble! Can Redondo finish him?
That's one minute gone in the round. Gregory is looking for a sweep. Redondo cracks Gregory with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Redondo immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Gregory is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Redondo!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Apolo Redondo!
